iPad – Hands on Introduction

Then there was iPad! On April 3rd 2010, Apple unleashed their new tablet computer, also known as iPad into a greatly expecting world and less than two months later it had already sold more than 2 million units.

Smartphones and laptops have been developing at an incredible rate with much consumer hunger for both products. The I Pad however, has entered stage left attempting to occupy the middle ground between the two behemoths of the industry. It is neither smartphone nor laptop, yet claims it can do much of what both formats can and much more besides.

Vital Statistics:

• The iPad has a screen size of 9 inches by 7 inches and weighs 1.5 pounds. Small enough and light enough to be flexible but with enough weight to avoid being flimsy.

• Internal storage is available with 16, 32 and 64GB flash drives.

• Apple claim that the rechargeable battery can tackle approximately 10 hours of video playback or 140 hours of audio.

• iPad is very much a “hands on” experience and the touch screen is designed to be used and controlled by your fingers.

• Using the iPad dock you can watch films and re-charge at the same time.
